Function
As a member of Production Application Support, Application Support Engineer provides production support for a significant number of diverse and complex systems that support I&TS applications mainly deployed in Luxembourg.
This position will follow for the day to day management activities (outlined below) This position will ensure the Luxembourgish line of support follows standardized processes, develops operational efficiencies, ensures applications support is in line with security compliance, security policies and procedures.
The Candidate works collaboratively with I&TS T&O and T&O to support the achievement of the IT business strategy and strategic priorities, including near-term and longer term objectives, accountable to drive the mission purpose for the clients.

You will:
- Provide production support on site or on call – on a 24h basis, depending on the SLAs
- Ensure issues are solved at 2nd line as well as escalating to 3rd line where appropriate
- Take a lead role in analyzing incidents and managing the recovery process from any production failures; restore services in case of disruption asap
- Ensure appropriate communication of the actions made by 2d line of support to the incident management as to the application custodian
- Liaise with Incident Management to communicate accurate status on incident resolutions.
- Ensure Problem tasks are closed on time
- Identify missing event alerting and monitoring and implement them
- Track system and application performance and capacity to ensure system resources and applications are optimized
- Ensure that the required applications and services can be recovered within the required business timescales
- Maintain sufficient technical awareness to provide competent 2d line of support, cross teams
- Ensure that the services are fully maintained and supported within the SLAs
- Adhere to corporate controls (internal and external audits, etc)
Requirements
You have/are:
- Knowledge of UNIX systems (Solaris/AIX/Linux)
- Knowledge of Windows: Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, Citrix / Xenapp 4.5/6.5
- Knowledge of UNIX scripting (ksh, bash), Powershell scripting, and MS SQL scripting
- Knowledge of Oracle 11g DB, Oracle 11g client install/configuration, MS SQL Server and Management Studio, Oracle SQL, PL / SQL
- Knowledge of UNIX security protocols (SSH, SFTP, FTPS, PKI and PGP)
- Knowledge of middle-ware: IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere Application Server, Oracle App Server
- Knowledge of ITIL process and best practices
- Knowledge of Agile methodology
- Good understanding of supportive technologies of financial sector
- English is required, French is considered an asset

- Most work occurs in an office environment (offices, meeting rooms). There can be times when the individual needs to make themself available to resources and businesses that are working in other time zones
- Position requires onsite shift cover and occasional working during weekends
- Provide on call support on a 24×7 rotational basis
